The contract is valid until December 28, 2035, and the concession covers an area of 118,017 Ha covering South Sulawesi (70,566 hectares), Central Sulawesi (22,699 hectares) and Southeast Sulawesi (24,752 hectares).
In producing nickel in the Sorowako Block, we use pyro metallurgical technology (in melting the laterite nickel ore). The Company mines laterite nickel ore and processes it into the final product of nickel in matte.
The Company also continues its plan to developing integrated mining practices through the Indonesia Growth Project (IGP) in Morowali Regency, Central Sulawesi, and in Kolaka Regency, Southeast Sulawesi. The development project also targets existing operational locations, in East Luwu Regency, South Sulawesi.
As the two largest shareholders, MIND ID (PT Mineral Industri Indonesia) and Vale Canada Limited (VCL) jointly control PT Vale Indonesia Tbk. MIND ID holds the largest share in the company at 34.00%, while VCL holds approximately 33.88%.

Mineral Resources Mineral Reserves (MRMR) Mine Engineering Specialist

Purpose of the Role

As part of PT Vale Indonesia Tbk MRMR Coordination Team and Corporate Qualified Person to prepare and certify the annual PTVI Corporate MRMR Statement, provide mine engineering technical support to the operations and project teams, provide MRMR technical input and reviews at project tollgate / maturity assessments and to improve processes involved with Mineral Reserves estimation in order to meet with operations the projects objectives to improve efficiency and consistency while maintaining quality and compliance with PTVI Guidelines and Standards for Mineral Reserve and Mineral Resource Estimation and Reporting and industrial regulatory in Mineral Reserve reporting codes applied in Indonesia (Kode KCMI and SNI-4726).

Accountabilities

  • To prepare and certify (sign-off) the annual PTVI Corporate Mineral Reserves part of MRMR Statement in compliance of PTVI Guidelines and Standards for Mineral Resources Mineral Reserves Reporting.
  • To ensure the Mineral Reserves supporting the Vale annual disclosure in 20F filing are estimated in accordance with the PTVI Guidelines and compliant with SEC S-K 1300.
  • To ensure the required technical assurance and governance is satisfied for the estimation, reporting and disclosure of PTVI Mineral Reserves compliant with PTVI Guidelines and Standards for Mineral Resources and Mineral Reserves Reporting and in accordance with applicable industry regulatory codes (Kode KCMI and SNI-4726).
  • To develop, maintain and communicate PTVI Mineral Reserves estimation and reporting standards in accordance with PTVI’s corporate requirements and best industry practices legal requirements.
  • To review and recommend changes to PTVI guideline standards, procedures leading practices when required based on amendments to external regulations where appropriate to ensure operations and projects are meeting the expectations of the corporation.
  • To execute technical reviews, to provide input on and to approve all PTVI MRMR statements and public disclosure involving or impacting Mineral Reserves information and reports outlining the areas for improvement.
  • To facilitate and to support internal and external audits and third-party reviews of Mineral Reserves estimates.
  • To perform risk assessments of Mineral Reserves estimates, Life of Mine Plan and production issues as per the annual cycle at the Operations (including process plants), Mines and Projects and to work with Exploration, Mine Geology and Engineering, Mineral Project, Processing and Operations teams to ensure action plans to mitigate the risks are identified and tracked via the MRMR risk register and to prioritize and provide technical support to systematically resolve identified issues and risks.
  • To provide mine engineering technical support to the operations and project teams including to support the assessment of business development opportunities, to provide MRMR technical input and reviews at project tollgate / maturity assessments and to improve processes involved with MRMR estimation in order to improve efficiency and consistency while maintaining quality.
  • To ensure the annual Mineral Reserves reporting is completed as per the schedule.
  • To provide MRMR professional development and to develop the MRMR knowledge and understanding for CPIs / CPs and across the business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mine Engineering.
  • Minimum 8 (eight) years of experience in Nickel Laterite.
  • Competent Person Indonesia (CPI) Certificate for Mineral Reserves Estimation Reporting for Nickel Laterite deposit under Kode KCMI 2017 (Mandatory).
  • Membership of Recognized Professional Organization (i.e. Perhapi, AusIMM, AIG, APGO) (Mandatory).
  • CP (Competent Person) for Mineral Reserves Estimation Reporting under SNI 4726 2019 (Preferred).
  • Competency Certificate for NQF 6, Long Term Mine Planning of Open Pit (Preferred).
  • Middle Management Operational Supervisor / Pengawas Operational Madya (POM) (Preferred).
  • Profesional Engineering Certification (IPM / P.Eng) (Preferred).
  • Have experience or knowledge in the Occupational Health, Safety and Environment Management System (SMK3L) (Preferred).
