PT Vale Indonesia was established by Deed No. 49 dated July 25, 1968, drawn up before Eliza Pondaag, a public notary in Jakarta. We operates under a Contract of Work, which was amended with a Special Mining Business Permit (IUPK) on May 13, 2024. The contract is valid until December 28, 2035, and the concession covers an area of 118,017 Ha covering South Sulawesi (70,566 hectares), Central Sulawesi (22,699 hectares) and Southeast Sulawesi (24,752 hectares).In producing nickel in the Sorowako Block, we use pyro metallurgical technology (in melting the laterite nickel ore). The Company mines laterite nickel ore and processes it into the final product of nickel in matte.
The Company also continues its plan to developing integrated mining practices through the Indonesia Growth Project (IGP) in Morowali Regency, Central Sulawesi, and in Kolaka Regency, Southeast Sulawesi. The development project also targets existing operational locations, in East Luwu Regency, South Sulawesi.
As the two largest shareholders, MIND ID (PT Mineral Industri Indonesia) and Vale Canada Limited (VCL) jointly control PT Vale Indonesia Tbk. MIND ID holds the largest share in the company at 34.00%, while VCL holds approximately 33.88%.

Supervisor Shipping and Traffic

Purpose of the Role
Lead and organize the operation of general cargo shipments, complying with the requirement of export and import to ensure on-time delivery of purchased material / equipment and nickel product in order to maintain continuity of inbound and outbound logistics.Accountabilities
- Planning and lead inbound logistic operation to ensure its on-time delivery to the Company’s working site in a cost-effective manner.
- Planning and lead the standard applicable rules and regulation compliance of all incoming cargos of purchased material / equipment (domestic and import) and outgoing nickel product (export) to avoid interruption and delay on each shipment.
- Plan the schedule and monitor the incoming chartered vessel and barging for coal and silica shipment to achieve efficient cost per RT general cargo and ensure availability of balanced coal and silica inventory, including the shipment of fuel supply through in-land trucking.
- Lead the planning of annual imported and domestic purchasing of goods and services based on commodity category in relation to development of Company’s Rencana Kerja dan Anggaran Belanja (RKAB).
- Lead report consolidation of nickel product exportation and realization of goods & service spending to related government institutions to synchronize plan and actual realization to meet regulation compliance.
- Lead the preparation of custom audit and its mitigation to avoid / eliminate any findings and reduce financial fines.
- Lead the risk assessment and its mitigation involving sea-freight, air-freight, and in-land cargo shipment activities by controlling critical activities to eliminate / reduce safety risks.
- Implement, monitor, and ensure compliance to EHS standards and regulations within his / her working areas.
- Promote and lead VPS implementation to increase productivity, safe operation, and cost effectiveness. Plan, execute, and monitor operation budget to ensure safe and uninterrupted inbound and outbound logistic operations within his / her area.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Shipping and Traffic or Export–Import operations.
- Export–Import Certification / Pengusaha Pengurusan Jasa Kepabeanan (PPJK) certificate is preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in a Shipping and Traffic area.
- Strong knowledge of International Commercial Terms (INCOTERMS) and Third-Party Logistics (3PL) management.
- Proven experience in managing forwarder service contracts, as well as vessel, barge, and tugboat charters.
- Computer literate, experienced in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Preferably have experience or knowledge in the Occupational Health, Safety and Environment Management System (SMK3L).
