Perum DAMRI Jobs: Business Development Analyst Staff

Perum DAMRI LogoPerum DAMRI, officially known as Perusahaan Umum Djawatan Angkoetan Motor Republik Indonesia, is a state-owned enterprise in Indonesia that operates in the land transportation sector. Established on November 25, 1946, DAMRI was originally formed to support the transportation needs of the newly independent Republic of Indonesia. Its name reflects its historical roots as a motor transport agency serving the republic. Over the decades, DAMRI has evolved into a modern transportation company with a wide range of services, including passenger and cargo transport across cities, provinces, and even international borders.
Headquartered in Jakarta, DAMRI manages its operations through four regional divisions and forty-four branch offices spread throughout Indonesia. This extensive network allows the company to provide transportation services in both urban and remote areas, ensuring connectivity across the archipelago. DAMRI’s presence in isolated regions is particularly important for supporting economic development and social mobility in areas that are underserved by private transportation providers.
DAMRI offers various types of transportation services, including city transport, airport shuttle services, intercity travel, and tourism transport. The company also operates routes to isolated and border areas, fulfilling its mandate to provide equitable access to transportation for all Indonesians. In addition to passenger services, DAMRI is involved in cargo transport, using trucks and specialized vehicles to move goods efficiently across the country. This dual focus on passenger and freight services positions DAMRI as a key player in Indonesia’s logistics and mobility ecosystem.
In recent years, DAMRI has undertaken significant modernization efforts to improve service quality and operational efficiency. These initiatives include fleet renewal, digital transformation, and the adoption of environmentally friendly technologies. DAMRI has introduced electric buses and vehicles powered by compressed natural gas (CNG) as part of its commitment to reducing carbon emissions and supporting sustainable transportation. The company also utilizes advanced systems for ticketing, scheduling, and fleet management to enhance customer experience and streamline operations.
DAMRI’s role extends beyond commercial operations. As a public service agency, it is tasked with supporting government programs related to transportation and infrastructure development. This includes providing transport services during national events, emergencies, and for specific social programs. DAMRI collaborates with various ministries and local governments to ensure that its services align with national priorities and contribute to broader development goals.
The company’s workforce is composed of professionals with expertise in transportation management, engineering, customer service, and logistics. DAMRI invests in human resource development through training programs, certifications, and partnerships with educational institutions. By building a skilled and motivated workforce, DAMRI aims to maintain high standards of service and adapt to the evolving demands of the transportation industry.
DAMRI also engages in strategic partnerships with other transportation providers, technology companies, and international organizations. These collaborations are designed to foster innovation, expand service coverage, and improve operational capabilities. For example, DAMRI has worked with airport authorities to enhance shuttle services and with tourism boards to develop travel packages that integrate transportation with hospitality and cultural experiences.
Financially, DAMRI operates under the supervision of the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises and adheres to regulations governing public companies. It generates revenue from ticket sales, cargo services, and government contracts. The company is committed to financial transparency and regularly publishes reports on its performance, investments, and strategic plans. These disclosures help build trust with stakeholders and ensure accountability in the use of public resources.
DAMRI’s branding and public image emphasize reliability, accessibility, and national service. Its buses are a familiar sight across Indonesia, often recognized by their distinctive design and logo. The company maintains a strong presence in media and public communications, promoting its services and initiatives to a broad audience. Through its official website and mobile applications, DAMRI provides information on routes, schedules, fares, and customer support, making it easier for passengers to plan and manage their travel.
As Indonesia continues to develop its transportation infrastructure, DAMRI is expected to play a central role in supporting mobility and connectivity. Its legacy as a state-owned transport provider, combined with its ongoing modernization efforts, positions DAMRI as a vital institution in the country’s journey toward inclusive and sustainable development.
