PT Vale Indonesia was established by Deed No. 49 dated July 25, 1968, drawn up before Eliza Pondaag, a public notary in Jakarta. We operates under a Contract of Work, which was amended with a Special Mining Business Permit (IUPK) on May 13, 2024. The contract is valid until December 28, 2035, and the concession covers an area of 118,017 Ha covering South Sulawesi (70,566 hectares), Central Sulawesi (22,699 hectares) and Southeast Sulawesi (24,752 hectares).In producing nickel in the Sorowako Block, we use pyro metallurgical technology (in melting the laterite nickel ore). The Company mines laterite nickel ore and processes it into the final product of nickel in matte.
The Company also continues its plan to developing integrated mining practices through the Indonesia Growth Project (IGP) in Morowali Regency, Central Sulawesi, and in Kolaka Regency, Southeast Sulawesi. The development project also targets existing operational locations, in East Luwu Regency, South Sulawesi.
As the two largest shareholders, MIND ID (PT Mineral Industri Indonesia) and Vale Canada Limited (VCL) jointly control PT Vale Indonesia Tbk. MIND ID holds the largest share in the company at 34.00%, while VCL holds approximately 33.88%.

Coordinator EHS Improvement

Purpose of the Role
- To support the area manager to achieve their EHS accountabilities based on PT. Vale Indonesia, Tbk requirement and government regulations
Accountabilities
- To ensure that Departmental employees have access to and adequate understanding of all relevant elements of the EHS MS.
- To ensure Hazard and Risk on each area manager and / or Project are well recognized, understood by the workers, address the control as required.
- Train, Socialization and maintain the awareness and knowledge to new or existing Standards, Standard Procedures, Manuals and other.
- Elements of the system as they are released by EHS (in addition to formal courses provided by EHS).
- Maintaining and driving organization learning and applicability analysis in Manager areas access and available for use by the Leadership.
- Coordination with snr Cord Training & Competencies to Manage and coordinating the compliance of certifications required based on Government and TNA as well as Equipment certifications.
- Perform analysis on Lagging indicators and Leading indicators EHS MS achieved in manager area and provide recommendation as subject matter expert related to the HS aspect.
- Providing the first point of contact for any queries regarding the content of Standards or Standard Procedures.
- Coaching in the use of SAP-IM and other EHS systems as required (in addition to formal courses provided by EHS).
- To ensure that the Department’s EHS performance is accurately assessed and reported.
- Ensure that an accountable person reports incidents into SAP-IM in a timely manner (including contractor incidents).
- Providing analysis and evaluation of weekly EHS incident management (as presented at the managers’ meeting).
- To identify and report broad-based or systemic failures of the Department or Sections to apply applicable EHS Standards or Standard procedures.
- As front-line 1st line of defend to ensure the Critical control are well implement through audit, verifications.
- Special functions to support the EHS MS across the Departments.
- Managing the Change Management process and evaluating risk severity.
- As Internal EHS Auditor Manager area for sustaining implementation of EHS MS.
- Risk Workshop facilitator for the Department.
- Supervise SLA audit program for the Department (quality, application, reporting).
- Immediate response to significant EHS incidents within the Department, including in Emergency & Crisis Condition, example: as EHS controller during the crisis to support line management with management and reporting.
- Facilitate / coordinate inspections by Mine Inspectors and management of mine book entries.
Requirements
- Graduate from Engineering, Science and / or Occupational Safety (K3).
- Minimum 5 (five) years of experience in operational and related field.
- Certified Pengawas Operational Pratama (POP) are mandatory.
- Fluent in English communication (writing, reading, speaking).
- Computer literate, experienced in Microsoft Office Application (Word, Excel, Power Point).
- Preferably have experience or knowledge in the Occupational Health, Safety and Environment Management System (SMK3L).
