Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) Jobs: Fisheries Vessel Modernization Program
Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries prepares the Fisheries Vessel Modernization Program as a strategic step to increase fishermen’s productivity while strengthening the national capture fisheries sector. A total of 1,582 modern fishing vessels will be built gradually during the period 2026 to 2028, consisting of 1,000 vessels sized 30 GT, 557 vessels sized 200 GT, and 25 vessels sized 500 GT, which will be equipped with various main fishing gears, including Pelagic Purse Seine, Gill Net, Handline, Bottom Longline, Tuna Pole Line, and transport vessels adjusted to the characteristics of fishing areas and the needs of local fishermen. General Requirements
- Indonesian citizen.
- Minimum education Elementary School (SD) or equivalent and/or able to read and write in Indonesian.
- Physically healthy (no physical disability) and mentally healthy, not suffering from strabismus (squint) or color blindness, proven by a health certificate issued by a licensed health service facility.
- Good conduct, proven by a valid Police Record Certificate (SKCK).
- Free from abuse and dependence on narcotics, psychotropics, and other addictive substances, proven by a certificate of being free from Narcotics, Psychotropics, and Addictive Substances (NAPZA) from an authorized institution.
- Possess a Job Seeker Card (AK-1) from the local Manpower Office (if available).
- Willing to follow all stages of the selection process.
- For participants declared to have passed the selection, willing to be placed on fishing vessels throughout Indonesia according to applicable regulations.
- Willing to sign a statement of willingness to work on modern fishing vessels for at least 1 (one) year.
- Possess a valid Basic Safety Training for Fishing (BST-F) Level II sailing safety certificate.
Special Requirements
Captain
- Minimum 3 (three) years of experience as Captain, proven by valid supporting documents.
- Possess at least SKN Nautical competency certificate or valid 60 Mile Certificate of Proficiency (SKK).
- Recommended for applicants with at least ANKAPIN III.
Chief Engineer/KKM
- Minimum 3 (three) years of experience as Chief Engineer (KKM), proven by valid supporting documents.
- Possess at least SKN Technical competency certificate or valid 60 Mile Certificate of Proficiency (SKK).
- Recommended for applicants with at least ATKAPIN III.
Mate
- Possess at least SKN Nautical competency certificate or valid 60 Mile Certificate of Proficiency (SKK).
- Fulfill one of the following experience requirements:
- Minimum sailing period of 24 (twenty-four) months, proven by valid supporting documents; or
- Graduate or active cadet of KP or non-KP Education Unit with at least ANKAPIN Level II competency certificate.
- Recommended for applicants with at least ANKAPIN III.
Engineer
- Possess at least SKN Technical competency certificate or valid 60 Mile Certificate of Proficiency (SKK).
- Fulfill one of the following experience requirements:
- Minimum sailing period of 24 (twenty-four) months, proven by valid supporting documents; or
- Graduate or active cadet of KP or non-KP Education Unit with at least ATKAPIN Level II competency certificate.
- Recommended for applicants with at least ATKAPIN III.
Crew Members (Refrigeration Machine Operator, Oilman, Head Deckhand, Deckhand)
- Refrigeration Machine Operator, Oilman, Bossman are prioritized to have at least 2 (two) years of work experience in relevant positions, proven by valid supporting documents.
- Deckhand: prioritized to have a valid Basic Safety Training for Fishing (BSFT) Level II certificate and experience as Deckhand.
Administrative Documents
- Photocopy of Identity Card;
- Photocopy of Family Card;
- Latest color photograph size 4x6 with red background (2 sheets);
- Photocopy of Diploma / Certificate of Graduation (STTB) / Graduation Certificate (SKL);
- Photocopy of Fishing Vessel Crew competency/skill certificate;
- Photocopy of Seaman’s Book;
- Photocopy of Job Seeker Card from relevant office (optional);
- Certificate of being free from Narcotics, Psychotropics, and Addictive Substances (NAPZA);
- Valid Police Record Certificate (SKCK); and
- Certificate of work experience (if any).
