PT Vale Indonesia was established by Deed No. 49 dated July 25, 1968, drawn up before Eliza Pondaag, a public notary in Jakarta. We operates under a Contract of Work, which was amended with a Special Mining Business Permit (IUPK) on May 13, 2024. The contract is valid until December 28, 2035, and the concession covers an area of 118,017 Ha covering South Sulawesi (70,566 hectares), Central Sulawesi (22,699 hectares) and Southeast Sulawesi (24,752 hectares).
In producing nickel in the Sorowako Block, we use pyro metallurgical technology (in melting the laterite nickel ore). The Company mines laterite nickel ore and processes it into the final product of nickel in matte.
The Company also continues its plan to developing integrated mining practices through the Indonesia Growth Project (IGP) in Morowali Regency, Central Sulawesi, and in Kolaka Regency, Southeast Sulawesi. The development project also targets existing operational locations, in East Luwu Regency, South Sulawesi.
As the two largest shareholders, MIND ID (PT Mineral Industri Indonesia) and Vale Canada Limited (VCL) jointly control PT Vale Indonesia Tbk. MIND ID holds the largest share in the company at 34.00%, while VCL holds approximately 33.88%.

Junior Automation Engineer

• Work Location: Sorowako

Purpose of the Role

Provide technical support for Automation Infrastructure systems across all operational departments of PTVI, assigned to troubleshoot issues, support operations to ensure production processes run according to plan, support maintenance to keep process equipment and Automation Infrastructure functioning as required, assist project teams during the design phase, and study improvement plans to ensure operational and production performance meets expected targets.

Accountabilities

• Provide technical support for Automation Infrastructure systems across all operational departments of PTVI, including troubleshooting, supporting operations, maintenance, and project teams during design or improvement planning, as well as executing simple automation projects in a time-efficient, energy-efficient, cost-effective, and quality-oriented manner.
• Act as a system design engineer for Automation Infrastructure projects, especially simple projects, including execution and delivery (Hosting, Applications, Cybersecurity, and Control Network Systems) in accordance with PTVI project delivery standards.
• Participate in project phases (construction, commissioning, and startup) to ensure all activities are carried out according to procedures and standards.
• Involved in process safety assessments required by projects/tasks such as Risk Assessment, HAZOP, JSA, SWP, HIRA, LOPA, etc.
• Update PTVI Automation documents to keep them current and implement Automation standards.
• Collect data for analyzing issues or incidents and for preparing design documents and improvement plans.
• Implement annual safety programs within the automation department to prevent incidents/accidents and ensure compliance with safety effectiveness / improvement programs in the Process Plant.
• Execute annual personnel development programs in the automation department to achieve competency, support career planning and succession, and maintain up-to-date automation technical expertise to provide effective technical support for Process Plant management.

Technical Specialization

• Familiar with Automation Functional Descriptions and international standards (NIST SP 800-82, ISA, etc.).
• Ability to design and implement network architecture and infrastructure solutions for Automation/Operational Technology (OT) Systems.
• Knowledge of Server-Client Systems.
• Familiar with Process Control Networks.
• Knowledge of Automation supporting software applications (HMI, Network Systems, and Automation DC Status Monitoring).
• Knowledge of IIoT configuration and implementation (preferred).

Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree (S1) in Information Technology, Informatics Engineering, Information Systems, or Computer Science.
• Hardware and Infrastructure: Hands-on experience in installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, storage, and backup systems is essential.
• Virtualization and Containerization: Proficiency in platforms such as VMware or OpenStack, and familiarity with containerization tools is highly valued.
• Databases: Familiar with databases such as MySQL, MSSQL, or Redis is an advantage.
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification (preferred).
• VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification (preferred).
• Member of the Indonesian Engineers Association (PII) (preferred).
• Preferably have experience or knowledge in the Occupational Health, Safety and Environment Management System (SMK3L)
