Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree (S1) in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Geology from a reputable university, with at least 3 years of experience in open-pit mining operations
• Experience in contractor management within open-pit coal mining operations is an advantage
• Experience in digitalisation, business intelligence tools and dashboards (e.g., Power BI), data analytics, automation tools, or AI applications for mining operations, contractor performance management, operational reporting, and business improvement initiatives is an advantage
• Solid understanding of mine planning, production analysis, contractor performance monitoring, contractor cost control, forecasting, budgeting, and operational reporting within open-pit coal mining operations
• Solid understanding of and skills in contract administration, reconciliation, tender management, and coal hauling management
• Good computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office software as well as mining software (preferably MINEX) for pit and dump design and mine scheduling
• Strong achievement orientation, teamwork, interpersonal, and conflict management skills
• Advanced communication and negotiation skills in Bahasa Indonesia and English, both written and verbal
• Strong work planning and management skills
• Strong analytical, conceptual thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Strong commitment to KPC’s vision-mission-values, HSES standards, continuous business improvement, and cost optimisation
• Willing to be based in East Kutai Regency, East Kalimantan

Key Roles and Accountabilities

• Evaluate daily, weekly, and monthly pit operation plans, including mining sequence, dump sequence, stripping ratio (SR), coal quality, and related operational parameters
• Conduct pit inspections and monitor mining activities, including land clearing, topsoil management, dump development, and haulage operations to ensure alignment with operational plans and requirements
• Analyse, review, and provide feedback to contractors regarding operating methods, equipment requirements, and operational performance
• Monitor and control contractor equipment utilisation and operational activities to ensure productivity and operational efficiency
• Evaluate contractor short-term plans, mine schedules, and forecasts, and identify potential operational risks, opportunities, and impacts to business performance
• Coordinate, monitor, and analyse coal flow quantity and quality from pit to port, including ROM management, blending plans, coal hauling, and coal crushing activities
• Liaise with internal stakeholders and contractors to coordinate coal quality, production, haulage, and operational requirements
• Oversee and control contractor activities, including contract compliance, operational performance, reconciliation, and cost effectiveness, in accordance with contractual agreements, operational plans, company standards, and environmental requirements
• Monitor the progress of operational activities to ensure delivery within approved schedules, budgets, and company safety standards and requirements
• Conduct operational analysis and provide technical recommendations to support productivity improvement, cost optimisation, and continuous business improvement initiatives
• Contribute to Grade - D functional responsibilities in health, safety, and environment; business and performance improvement; and budgeting and cost control
