PT Vale Indonesia was established by Deed No. 49 dated July 25, 1968, drawn up before Eliza Pondaag, a public notary in Jakarta. We operates under a Contract of Work, which was amended with a Special Mining Business Permit (IUPK) on May 13, 2024. The contract is valid until December 28, 2035, and the concession covers an area of 118,017 Ha covering South Sulawesi (70,566 hectares), Central Sulawesi (22,699 hectares) and Southeast Sulawesi (24,752 hectares).In producing nickel in the Sorowako Block, we use pyro metallurgical technology (in melting the laterite nickel ore). The Company mines laterite nickel ore and processes it into the final product of nickel in matte.
The Company also continues its plan to developing integrated mining practices through the Indonesia Growth Project (IGP) in Morowali Regency, Central Sulawesi, and in Kolaka Regency, Southeast Sulawesi. The development project also targets existing operational locations, in East Luwu Regency, South Sulawesi.
As the two largest shareholders, MIND ID (PT Mineral Industri Indonesia) and Vale Canada Limited (VCL) jointly control PT Vale Indonesia Tbk. MIND ID holds the largest share in the company at 34.00%, while VCL holds approximately 33.88%.

Senior Coordinator Legal

Purpose of the Role
Provide legal service support to ensure the organization meets its legal obligations and protects its strategic interests, with a specific focus on industrial relations and Sorowako operation.Accountabilities
- Implement and supervise Environment, Health, Safety, and Risk (HSE) standards and regulations by ensuring the conditions of the work environment, equipment, materials, methods, worker behavior, and 5S under the area's responsibility, with the aim of ensuring compliance, minimizing risk, achieving safe and secure conditions (zero harm), a clean environment, and reaching work productivity targets.
- Handle Industrial Relations, Criminal, and Civil Law cases, including, among others, providing case analysis, updating internal information for relevant team members, providing first-line legal support onsite, and engaging / coordinating / liaising with external legal counsel as needed, to protect company interests.
- Represent the company or manage the company to be well-represented before the court, police, or prosecutors.
- Provide legal updates regarding Industrial Relations Law matters and other legal fields, as needed, from time to time for managers and staff.
- Provide accurate and timely legal services and advice on various matters, as may be required from time to time, to ensure that company interests are protected and the legal aspects of every decision are fully considered.
- Represent the Legal Department in meetings with third parties to protect company interests and ensure that the legal aspects of every decision are fully considered.
- Assist in reviewing draft contracts and other legal documents regarding various matters, ensuring that these documents are legally valid and / or to ensure that company interests are protected.
- To align technical legal approaches and strategies with the Legal team in the Jakarta office.
Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (S1) in Law.
- Minimum of 5 (five) years of experience in the field of legal and industrial relations, preferably in a reputable law firm and / or a national-scale mining company.
- Hold an active legal practice license from an Advocate Association (PERADI, AAI, KAI) to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, Microsoft Project and PowerPoint).
- Preference given to those with knowledge and experience related to the Occupational Safety, Health, and Environment Management System (SMK3L).
