Biro Klasifikasi Indonesia (BKI) is the national classification society of Indonesia, established in 1964 to strengthen the country's maritime independence. For more than six decades, BKI has been trusted for its independence, integrity, and expertise in safeguarding assets across the maritime, energy, infrastructure, and industrial sectors. As a Classification Society, BKI develops and applies technical standards for the design, construction, and survey of ships and offshore structures. Vessels built and maintained in accordance with these standards are awarded a Classification Certificate, confirming compliance with recognized international safety and quality benchmarks.
BKI also carries out statutory survey and certification services on behalf of the Government of Indonesia and foreign flag states. These include Load Line, ISM Code, and ISPS Code certification, ensuring compliance with IMO conventions and global maritime regulations. Over the years, BKI has evolved into a comprehensive TICCS service provider (Testing, Inspection, Certification, Classification, and Statutory), supporting industries through inspection, testing, consultancy, and certification services. Surveyor

Job Description

Surveyor carries out tasks including, but not limited to:

• Conducting surveys and preparing class and statutory survey reports of ships and offshore floating units.
• Conducting ISM and ISPS audits.
• Performing certification of materials and components.
• Carrying out project management of new shipbuilding.

Employment Status

• Employment status is Non-Permanent Employee (PKWT Employee). The Training Program consists of Theoretical and Practical Training. During the period as Non-Permanent Employee (PKWT Employee), candidates will be evaluated for opportunities of appointment as permanent employees (PKWTT Employee).

Applicant Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree / equivalent from the department of Naval Architecture / Ship Systems / other relevant departments related to design, construction, safety, and operation of ships and maritime installations.
• Diploma 4 graduate in Nautical Study Program (Ahli Nautika Tingkat IV (ANT-IV)).
• Minimum GPA 3.00 for Bachelor’s degree / equivalent graduates from state universities accredited "Unggul" / "Baik Sekali" (BAN-PT).
• Minimum GPA 3.25 for Bachelor’s degree / equivalent graduates from private universities accredited "Unggul" (BAN-PT).
• For Master’s degree / equivalent graduates:
  • Minimum GPA 3.25 from universities with accreditation "A" / "Unggul"; or
  • Minimum GPA 3.50 from universities with accreditation "B" / "Baik".
• Graduates from foreign universities must adjust GPA with recognized conversion and accreditation.
• Open for fresh graduates and experienced candidates, prioritized for those who already have Welding Inspector (WI) certification.
• Maximum age 30 years by February 1, 2026.
• Possess oral and written English proficiency with certificate:
• TOEFL minimum score: 500 (PBT) / 180 (CBT) / 64 (IBT), or
• IELTS minimum score: 5.0 (overall band), valid within the last 2 years, and
• If possessing other foreign language skills, certificates must be included.
• Willing to be placed throughout Indonesia.
